With Teams context variables, you now have access to information like which channel, team, or group your app has been embedded in. With that information, you can now build apps that automatically filter down to relevant content, pre-populate fields, or respond to the users Microsoft Teams theme. Additionally, you can use this information to support deep linking to pages within your app.

You can now export a canvas app as a Teams app so that you can use it as a personal or tab app within Teams. As a user of Teams, you can use this functionality to create a collaborative application within a tab so that your colleagues can all interact with the same data together.
