General availability of the SAP ERP connector

Headshot of article author Sameer Chabungbam

SAP ERP systems play an important role in many enterprises business functions like accounting, sales, payroll, finance, production, human resources, and more.  Last year, we announced the public preview of an SAP ERP connector for Power Apps and Power Automate. Since then, we have been working to improve the functionality and overall reliability of the connector. We have fixed many issues to improve the error handling, diagnostics, stability around authentication, data types and other issues that have been reported by customers. We are now excited to announce that the general availability (GA) of the SAP ERP connector in Power Apps and Power Automate. With this release, customers can use the SAP ERP connector in production workloads. The SAP ERP connector is certified by SAP for integration with SAP S/4HANA and SAP ERP.

The SAP ERP connector allows integration with SAP ERP systems via BAPIs and RFCs. It requires the on-premise data gateway and the SAP .NET Connector SDK from SAP. Many customers want to integrate with ODATA APIs provided by SA. We published a blog post and a sample SAP ODATA connector on GitHub on how this can be done today. With the integration of GitHub while importing a custom connector, it is now a 2 click experience to get this custom connector (or any other) in your environment. On the custom connector page, just click on “+New custom connector” > “Import from GitHub” and select the SAP-ODATA-Demo connector.

We are also working on providing an out-of-box ODATA connector that will also work for SAP systems. If you are interested in an early preview of the ODATA connector, do let us know by filling this form.

Finally, if you have built an integration with any SAP systems, not just SAP ERP systems, or have any feedback, we would love to talk to you. Do write to us at sap_ecc_powerapps (@service.microsoft.com).
