PowerApps Portals is now available for Public Preview
During Microsoft Business Application Summit last month, we introduced PowerApps Portals as a new capability coming to PowerApps.
Today I am excited to announce that the public preview for PowerApps Portals is now open for everyone. Now all PowerApps makers can create powerful low-code and responsive portals which allow users external to their organizations to interact with data stored in Common Data Service.
As a PowerApps maker, you’ll be able to now create and manage a new App type called “Portal” for your Common Data Service as well as Dynamics 365 environments directly from make.powerapps.com. You will also be able to access all the Portals present in your environment in the apps list.
Here’s a recap of the key capabilities that PowerApps Portals make possible today:
Engage with your customers and partners
PowerApps Portals allow organizations to create websites which can be shared with users external to their organization either anonymously or through the login provider of their choice like LinkedIn, Microsoft Account, other commercial login providers. You can also integrate enterprise login providers using a variety of industry standard protocols like SAML2, OpenId Connect and WS-Fed . Websites can also be created for Employees who can connect using their corporate Azure Active Directory account.
Build websites easily with a new, dedicated portal designer
Use a powerful no-code portal designer to create and manage content including pages, sitemaps, templates and more to build pixel perfect experiences. Custom brand your portal and make it responsive using bootstrap themes.
Also use familiar CDS components like model-driven forms, views, and dashboards to surface data stored in Common Data Service on your website in a few clicks.
Integrate with Microsoft services to enrich content
Integrate with Microsoft services like Power BI embeded, SharePoint Online, Azure Blob Storage, Azure AD B2C and many more to enhance your portal with rich content and provide a personalized experience to your customers.
Model complex business process using pro dev extensibility
Use the same professional developer capabilities of the Common Data Service platform and Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement Portal, including templates, code plugins, workflows, and more to extend your websites and cater to sophisticated use cases when needed.
Extend Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement Applications using prebuilt templates
Use the prebuilt templates like Customer Self Service, Partner Management, Community Self service, Employee Self Service etc which extends your Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement Applications and allows you to reach external customers/partners as well as Internal Employees.
Advanced Administration Capabilties
Use Advanced Administration capabilities like Adding Vanity Domain Names, IP Address filtering, Diagnostic Logging, Maintenance mode, Ability to turn off/restart your website and many more.
How to Get Started
PowerApps Portals preview is enabled automatically for all PowerApps Customers. So login to your PowerApps Studio and get started on creating a Portal.
